4.1 Magnitude Earthquake hits Isleton in Northern California

United States Geological Survey (USGS) has reported that a 4.1 magnitude earthquake hit Isleton in the Sacramento-San Juan Delta at around 9:29 AM. The earthquake had been originally reported to be of 4.6 magnitude, however it was downgraded to a 4.1 later.

Isleton is located 65 miles north-east of San Francisco, and 40 Miles south-west of Sacramento.

USGS published a notification on their twitter (Now “X”) account that the earthquake was of magnitude 5 Richter Scale, and the Sacramento residents who had enabled Wireless Emergency Alert on their cellphones received the earthquake alert.

Earthquake tremors were felt far east from the epicenter to Sacramento, and far south till Modesto, till Vacaville in north, and San Leandro is the west.

State also used the MyShakeApp to send alerts to users in the Bay Area and Sacramento region.

USGS also sent “Did you feel it?” notifications to the citizens and received around 1,000 responses.
